While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more! We’re also delighted to announce that the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack, our charity collab with non-profit Gameheads, will be available for PS5 players in October and PC on launch at no additional cost. As a sequel in a spectacular series, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is both blessed and cursed. Its story of two Spider-Men is a great time and a Spidey fan’s dream to play through as comic book pages are brought to life, elegantly walking the tightrope between light humour and heavier themes. Meanwhile, Insomniac refines a successful formula of combat and web-swinging without revolutionising either in major ways, making them comfy and familiar with just enough new tweaks and abilities to elevate them to fun new heights. The part that feels like it actually needed a radical rethinking is the open world of New York City, which has been made bigger but not better, with an exhausting checklist of mostly repetitious side activities.

While Spider-Man 2’s combat is more fluid than ever, it still fell short of Insomniac’s earlier expectations for the game. All Suit Tech

Upon seeing Peter wearing the exosuit, Connors reveals that it is actually an alien lifeform called a symbiote, which Oscorp obtained years prior from a meteorite, and warns Peter to destroy it. Under the symbiote’s corrupting influence, Peter refuses and keeps it for himself despite learning that Harry’s illness has returned, straining their friendship. As Peter goes on a symbiote-induced rampage against the Hunters (even nearly killing Mary Jane at one point), Kraven captures Miles and forces him to fight Li. Miles overcomes his anger towards Li and helps him escape, directing him to find Peter. Once Li informs him of Miles’ location, Peter arrives to storm Kraven’s fortress in an effort to rescue him and nearly kills Kraven before Miles intervenes, defeating the corrupted Peter and convincing him to remove the symbiote.

Utilizing the PS5’s internal solid-state drive, players can seamlessly fast travel at the touch of the map once they’ve spent enough time in each neighborhood. And although it means the loss of the endlessly entertaining sequences of a masked up Spidey taking the subway, it shows once again that Insomniac are one of the few developers capable of showing off the flashy speeds of an SSD. And although it makes the larger map somehow feel smaller, the density of detail crammed in each city block helps make the world feel alive. Wield Peter’s new symbiote abilities and Miles’ explosive bio-electric venom powers, and discover upgradeable, high-tech equipment that enhances the combat experience for extensive gameplay depth and variety.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated action-adventure games, bringing the thrilling world of Spider-Man to life with stunning graphics and immersive gameplay. And sure, more of what came before does mean that Spider-Man 2 retreads less successful ground, like the first game’s buzz-killing science puzzles. However, the good far outweighs the bad, and a few new gameplay mechanics freshen up aspects of both traversal and combat. Altogether, it’s a great game and one well worth seeing all the way through from its bombastic beginning to its emotional end.

Reflecting on how these memories will soon be lost to him, it’s a stark reminder to Miles (and the player) that this world is populated by real people and their experiences, and that is worth fighting for. There’ luck8 com which — and this cannot be stressed enough — serve zero purpose for Spider-Man. As with most games, the choice to stick with stealth attacks will almost aways slow down the gameplay and result in most players triggering fisticuffs just to get back to the action. Thankfully, the team at Insomniac seem to have realized this, creating very few scenarios where the stealth is forced outside of mini-game sequences and, of course, Mary Jane. He’s working on his college admissions essay with the help of his Spider-tutor and has finally gotten a hang of the superhero schtick.

What’s Your Favorite Superhero Video Game Series?

It might not be the newest or prettiest game on this list, but the vibe and experience hasn’t been replicated by anything before or since, even its own sequels. I tried to create a balanced experience overall and made sure I was tackling just as many side quests and hunting collectibles as I was unravelling the tangled tale. That really helped in unlocking some of the more power abilities and unique suits to use throughout the story missions but also contributed to my time with the game feeling like a complete experience.

These Easter eggs can be found in both the original PS5 version and the 2025 PC version of Spider-Man 2 unless noted otherwise. The Web Grabber is really the only way that Spider-Man is going to dish out more damage with his intellect over his two fists, as the gadget in action will pull enemies towards it to make for a rather hurtful collision. Some combat situations have way too many enemies, even for the amazing Spider-Man.

Peter Parker is accepted into Horizon High – a high school for brilliant young scientific minds. He struggles with the duality of his social life at school and hiding his secret identity of Spider-Man from everyone including his best friend, Harry Osborn, who attends the competing Osborn Academy for Geniuses. As Peter embraces his alter-ego, and battles against super villains like Vulture, Lizard, Doc Ock and Hammerhead, he is forced to watch Harry slowly descend to the wrong side of good and evil.

Or perhaps you haven’t gone web-slinging through New York City and now that you have a PS5, you’re ready to pull down the Spidey mask and help protect New York City? No matter where you are in your Spider journey, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know to enjoy this new video game adventure. Following the conclusions of their respective solo adventures they’re now a tight-knit crime-fighting duo, but both are predictably still struggling to juggle their superhero callings with their personal responsibilities. It’s hard not to feel, though, that Peter’s inability to hold down a job or progress his relationship with MJ feels a little higher stakes than Miles… procrastinating over his college application? Standard open-world filler activities are here aplenty, and that’s one area where Spider-Man 2 hasn’t moved with the times or shown ambition at all. Collectibles, photo opportunities, and rather basic street crimes are still here and, despite having a few slightly more interesting quirks this time around, they only very occasionally excite.
